The Most Insane Builds in Diesel History!

From Craigslist beater to show-stopping legacy—Garret Niss’ 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, built with Firepunk Diesel, is one of the most meticulous diesel builds we’ve ever seen. The Storyteller Series brings you one of the cleanest, most detail-packed diesel builds on the scene—Garret Niss’ 2006 Dodge Ram 2500, also known as “The OG.” This truck’s story goes way deeper than horsepower and paint. Garret bought it at just 16 years old, and it’s been with him through muddy fields, long road trips, and years of wrenching. By the time the original 5.9 Cummins came out, the snowball effect was in full swing—and once Firepunk Diesel got involved, things got serious. Under the hood, a 2023-built Cummins inline-six from D&J Precision Machine packs billet pistons, X-beam rods, custom Firepunk headwork, a Stage 4 intake, Exergy 14mm pump, and 400% injectors. A Firepunk Comp Stage 3 48RE transmission, custom back half, and four-link wishbone make sure the power gets to the ground. Wrapped in Inferno Red Crystal paint by Jacob Neuschwander and rolling on 20x14 Liberty Forge wheels with Mickey Thompson tires, the OG Ram blends race truck attitude with show truck precision. Inside, a custom console, JL Audio system, and starlight headliner finish it off with as much detail as the drivetrain. Garret’s goal? Build something that’s not just cool today—but decades from now. And looking at the OG Ram, we’d say he nailed it.
