Exhausted and Battered, theWinners are Crowned

The long trek to the Summit Racing Equipment World Finals began in Tucson, Arizona, back in February 2015. Teams ventured to 11 events across the U.S and Canada, ﬁghting the elements and fellow competitors along the way. In the end at Memphis, Tennessee, 13 champions were crowned.

The Pro Stock championship came down to the ﬁnal pass of the season at Memphis. John Montecalvo lost to JR Carr in the ﬁnals, giving defending world champ Cary Goforth the Pro Stock World Championship by a mere 12-point diﬀerence. Last season saw Goforth also win the PDRA Pro Stock Championship.

Dina Parise locked up the Pro Modiﬁed World Championship in the ﬁrst round at Memphis. Bill Lutz sat second in the points and was unable to advance to the semiﬁnals because he lost to Rueben Tetsoshvili in the ﬁrst round. The championship is the ﬁrst for Parise.

Jay Turner notched his fourth Nitro Harley World Championship. He dominated Memphis: #1 qualiﬁer, won the race and broke the E.T. world record.

The Jet Dragster championship was determined at the San Antonio Nationals. Elaine Larsen took the crown for the second year in a row.

Hollywood” Donny Urban is the Top Sportsman champ.

Nick Womack captured the Top Dragster world crown.

Jimmy Hidalgo Jr. won the Super Stock Championship.

Yet another woman took an IHRA Championship, Michelle Martel won Stock.

The Super Rod world crown was claimed by Doug Lynden.

Patrick Forster is the 2015 Hot Rod world champ.

We wonder how many championships Ms. Kassie Thomas will rack up in the future, following her 2015 Jr. Dragster crown.

For the next 12 months, Vernon Rowland can boast of being the Quick Rod world champ.
