Phat Phabz Does Diesel

There’s no denying that custom dually trucks can command the most attention on the streets. There’s just something magical about the wide rear profile that sets these pickups off like nothing else. Sure, we’ve seen plenty of lifted dually trucks out there, and we love to see them. It’s just hard to score points on one that is slammed to the ground over large wheels. The amount of work required to pull that off right is almost otherworldly, and when the job is done right—watch out!

The truck you are currently feasting your eyes on is a 2025 Chevy Silverado 3500 LTZ owned by Daniel Maldonado of Anaheim, California. The truck was built by Phat Phabz of Choctaw, Oklahoma. As you may already know, Jake McKiddie, owner of Phat Phabz, and his crew do not play around when it comes to building full-custom vehicles. Even though this Chevy dually is essentially a brand-new truck, the build was a frame-off affair. Altering the GM factory chassis to reach an altitude as low as the truck sits now was not an option, especially considering that Phat Phabz has mastered the art of custom chassis fabrication.

Jake and his team not only fabricated a full custom chassis for the Silverado, but they also cooked up one-off steering knuckles, narrowed the rearend 6 inches on each side, and installed an Accuair e-Level system complete with a VU4 four-corner manifold. A total of four Viair 485 compressors and dual 5-gallon aluminum tanks are also onboard to create enough on-demand air for quick and powerful ride height adjustability. Once the new frame was test fit, it was time to dress it up by powdercoating it candy red, which Topps Powder Coating in Moore, Oklahoma was happy to assist with.

Next, the Phat Phabz crew began shopping around for the perfect set of wheels for the truck— 30-inch American Force rollers were the perfect choice. Custom floating caps were also added to lend an extra piece of pizzazz to the equation. No matter how big a truck is, 30-inch diameter wheels are huge! To give them the proper breathing room underneath the truck, Jake and crew performed an extensive amount of sheetmetal work to make new tubs front and rear, along with raising the bed 2.5 inches. Sure, that’s a lot of work, but it was all worth it in the end.

The bed wasn’t the only body part that was altered in the process. The hips also had to be raised, and the bodylines on the bed had to be reworked as well. All plastic pieces were color-matched, as were the chrome details. The light housings were then tinted to give the Silverado a murdered-out appearance that looks downright diabolical at any hour of the day. Corrupt Customs in McLoud, Oklahoma, played a huge part in this important phase of the build.

A few more finishing touches were still in order, and Curtis Creations in Midwest City, Oklahoma, was ready and willing to do its part. First, a black suede headliner was installed, and then fresh carpeting was rolled out to give the interior a fresh start. Even though the Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 didn’t need much of anything, it was upgraded with a 125 hp tune, along with a 4-inch straight exhaust system for far better breathing power.

Of course, when Phat Phabz unveils a freshly completed ride for sale, their fans take notice. Daniel was lucky to have swooped on this amazing truck that is sure to be a treasured garage gem. The Silverado has already been out to a handful of shows, but 2026 just may prove to be its breakout year. Keep your eyes peeled.
