Every February, custom truck fans from all corners of the country roll into Conroe, Texas for one of the biggest and baddest shows on the calendar. Lone Star Throwdown proved once again why it still holds the crown. From killer rides to great vibes, LST brought the heat and reminded everyone why it’s a can’t-miss event.
This year’s Throwdown was packed with over 2,000 registered vehicles—all pre-approved and pre-registered. No roll-ups are allowed. That rule might sound tough, but it keeps the show tight and manageable while still leaving room for the heavy hitters to shine. From slammed classics to lifted beasts, bagged daily drivers to full-blown show builds, every square inch of the Lone Star Expo Center was filled with custom steel and creativity.
As usual, the crowd started rolling in early as Thursday looked like Saturday at most shows. By the time Friday morning hit, the grounds were buzzing with everything from old-school C10s and OBS Chevys to wild one-off builds and detailed daily drivers. Vendor row stayed busy, and the energy never let up throughout the weekend.
The weather played nice too—clear skies and mid-70s all three days, which only made everything that much better. And with no mud or rain to worry about, the trucks stayed looking fresh and photo-ready.
The talk of the show? Lucille—a stunning Chevy C10 sitting on a Roadster Shop chassis and powered by a nasty supercharged Dart LSX motor. Built to impress and tuned to run, Lucille took home Best of Show honors without question. Every time we passed by, there was a crowd circling it, and for good reason. That truck is a masterpiece.
Even though we didn’t have a booth at the show this year, we were there checking out builds, catching up with builders, and grabbing content you’ll see in upcoming issues. Lone Star Throwdown never disappoints, and 2025 was no exception. If you haven’t been yet, add it to your list. And if you have—well, we’ll probably see you next year at the same time, at the same place.
